Niagara Falls Comic Con Returns to the Scotiabank Convention Centre for Two Days of Out of This World Excitement (June 8-9, 2013)
Tuesday, June 4, 2013 (Niagara Falls, Ontario) -- Go Big or Go Home! This is the motto that organizers of Niagara Falls Comic Con (NFCC) have gone by for the last several years. This year is no exception, as the NFCC returns to the Scotiabank Convention Centre, in Niagara Falls (SCCN) for the second time, twice as large and for double the time. The two-day event starts this Saturday, June 8th (10am - 7pm) to Sunday, June 9th (10am - 5pm)
This year’s NFCC has expanded to take over the entire 82,000 sq.ft. floor space of the convention centre’s massive exhibit hall; but It’s more than simply adding more vendors, NFCC organizers recognize the importance of bringing in artists and celebrities -- a crowd pleaser at all sci/fi convention events. This year’s line-up is sure to hit a cord in everyone’s pop-culture memory vault. From galaxies far, far away to worlds closer to home, celebrities like: Adam West (1960s Batman), Lou Ferrigno (1970s Incredible Hulk), David Prowse (Star Wars’ ‘Darth Vader’), and Sam J. Jones (Star of 1980’s Flash Gordon) are just a handful of the screen stars that will be making their Niagara Falls debut during the weekend event.
NFCC will also be hosting Falls Horror Fest, presented by Fangoria, which is sure to bring heart-stopping chills with more than 5,000 sq. ft. of exhibitors, horror film industry artists, celebrities, movie props, memorabilia, special F/X seminars and lots more! Horror film legend Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead, Friday the 13th, Part I & IV, Texas Chainsaw Massacre II), Kane Hodder (‘Jason Voohees’ Friday the 13th, Parts 7-10), and effects artists Paul Jones (Hellraiser, Resident Evil, The Thing) are just a few of the celebrities that horror movie buffs can meet.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane?... No, it’s the Batcopter! The original Bell 47 Helicopter featured in the 1966 movie classic will be landing next to the Batmobile. It certainly appears that a major Batman TV Show reunion will be taking place. In addition to Adam West, Lee Meriwhether, who portrayed the mischievous Catwoman in the 1966 film, is also making an appearance at this year’s NFCC. Where’s ‘Robin’ when you need him?
