Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) Hits Record Attendance in Niagara Falls
The Scotiabank Convention Centre welcomes CAEM to Niagara Falls for their Annual Conference from June 23-25, 2013
Friday, June 21, 2013 – The popular trade, consumer and events industry is quickly becoming a growing business around the world. At the Scotiabank Convention Centre, in Niagara Falls (SCCN), over 200 professional Meeting Planners, Exhibition Experts and Event Professionals from across North America will gather for the Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) Annual Conference. The three-day conference starts Sunday, June 23 and concludes on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 is themed, ‘People. Power. Possibilities!’ which has proven to be quite the appropriate call to action for it has become CAEM’s largest attending conference to date.
“We are very excited to host CAEM,” says Kerry Painter, President & General Manager at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. “This annual event brings together industry experts from across North America who will discuss important trends, best practices and related issues that reverberate throughout Canada. To have this take place in Niagara Falls is fantastic!” adds Kerry.
The CAEM conference will offer a number of networking opportunities and educational sessions over the course of two days, which will include: ‘Attendance Promotion’, ‘How to Stand Out in an Overcrowded Marketplace’ and ‘How to Build a High Performance Culture’. In addition to these sessions, there will be a ‘Savour the Flavours’ Niagara Luncheon, an Executive Leadership Panel and a tradeshow featuring a number of exhibitors. Planning an exciting event of this nature certainly takes a dedicated team; the SCCN takes pride that one of its Sales Manager, Missy Lichtenberger, is one of the many CAEM members who brings her knowledge and passion for the industry by focusing on public relations as Co-Chair for CAEM Promotions Committee.
“I have spent this past year promoting the CAEM Annual Conference,” says Missy Lichtenberger, SCCN Sales Manager and Co-Chair of the CAEM Promotions Committee whose tireless efforts in promoting this year’s conference in Niagara Falls have resulted in record attendance. “They have not been here since 2005 and the Centre allows them to now return in full force. We have an amazing conference planned with a high level of industry relevant education sessions, key note speakers and off site dinners, including the closing reception at Ravine Winery. I am thrilled about this opportunity and can’t wait to show off Niagara Hospitality to our Industry peers and customers.”
When choosing the name of the event, it was in fact the power of the three ‘P’s that brought committee members to agreement when selecting this year’s conference theme of, ‘People, Power, Possibilities’, that derives from the people who power the exposition and events management industry and the array of possibilities that open up when industry professionals come together to work with new concepts and lead new trends for years to come. “We believe it’s just the power of the falls that draws everyone here and powers the other P’s!” Painter concluded.
