Our Sustainability Story

At Niagara Falls Convention Centre, we are deeply committed to sustainability and our core social responsibility. We recognize that our actions have a significant impact on the environment and the local community. Therefore, we have implemented a range of initiatives across our facilities, operations, food and beverage services, engineering, and human resources to ensure that we operate in an environmentally responsible and socially conscious manner.

Locally & Responsibly Sourced

A Sustainable Menu

Aligning with Niagara Falls Convention Centre's values to make hosting an event easier for our clients and the planet, we've developed a new sustainable menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner options expertly crafted with ingredients that significantly reduce carbon emissions.

And here’s the twist: we’ve teamed up with Eco-Friendly Events to utilize Klimato, a leading carbon labeling platform, to bring you clear, easy-to-read carbon footprint ratings on every sustainable menu item. That means event planners can:
✔ Make informed food choices.
✔ Lower their event’s carbon footprint.
✔ Support a healthier, more sustainable future.

The best part? Our sustainable menu items are priced in line with our standard offerings, because hosting responsibly shouldn’t cost more. Even choosing one lower-impact meal during your next conference, like a sustainable breakfast or lunch, can make a meaningful difference.

Building Bridges In Our Community

Food Recovery Program

In 2023, NFCC signed on to The Bridge Food Recovery Program to minimize food insecurity, and to make a difference in our community. Through this meaningful partnership, surplus food from events held at our Convention Centre is safely collected and redistributed to those in need throughout the local community. The Bridge Food Recovery Program not only helps reduce food waste but also strengthens our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. By working together with dedicated organizations like The Bridge, we're proud to support a more inclusive and caring Niagara one meal at a time.

Built For The Future

LEED Certified

In 2011, the Niagara Falls Convention Centre was proudly constructed as a Silver Level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) facility, officially recognized by the Canada Green Building Council. This designation highlights more than just our building’s design, it reflects our long-standing dedication to creating a venue that minimizes environmental impact while maximizing efficiency and comfort for our guests. From energy conservation and water efficiency to responsible material selection and indoor air quality, every aspect of our facility was carefully considered to meet the rigorous international standards of LEED certification.

Let There Be Light

Natural Light

Every detail of our Convention Centre was designed with intention, and natural light plays a central role in that vision. Expansive windows allow sunlight to pour into meeting spaces, creating bright,  inspiring rooms that feel both comfortable and inviting. This architectural choice not only elevates the guest experience, but also aligns with our strong commitment to sustainability. By maximizing daylight and reducing reliance on artificial lighting, we are able to lower electricity consumption, lessen our environmental footprint, and create a space that balances innovation with environmental responsibility.
